The underpass project had been requested for consideration by the Scenic Corridor Foundation in the interest of safety for pedestrians and cyclists, as more businesses and developments have been added in the Inlet Beach area, with more to come.Ĭhapman commented that he had “proffered” the bypass project. It was stated that there were no plans to elevate U.S. Lavender said very little public comment had been received on the projects to date.Īsked if there could be a problem with water getting into the pedestrian underpass, Lavender responded that a drainage plan would be required as part of the design of the project. At that point, due to limited funding, it would be necessary for one or more projects currently in the latter plan to be removed, she explained. If approved to go into the needs plan, the next step for the projects would be to be consider approval for them to be added into the Cost Feasible Plan.
